Almay Intense I-Color Eyeshadow Review & Giveaway

ALMAY INTENSE I-COLOR
Smoky-I Kit For Browns

Sorry for the horrible pics this time around, it was like at 1am and I got the mood to "play". So I grabbed my Almay smoky-i kit for brown eyes. I know it says made for brown eyes, but I know it would look awesome with other colored eyes as well. The colors are super pigmented and blend really well. Even better when you can actually see and you aren't applying make-up in low light, which is why my eye make-up looks so messy. There are three colors that come in the kit: brown, pinkish - brown, and a cream color. The pinkish - brown color kind of through me off because it didn't seem to really go well with the other two colors. In the end I think if I blended a bit better it would have been a smoother transition. I know you guys can probably do a better job at it, I'd love to see what you guys do with it. So because I love you guys I'm giving away a kit (for brown eyes) to one lucky person. Oh but that's not all! I've got a eye pencil to go along with it - in black or brown (winners choice). Super easy to enter and will run from today 4/10 till 4/19, so enter today!

**I'll add better pics soon, it was a pretty gloomy day today and I couldn't get any good shots.

Make-Up Corner: Nyx Review

REVIEW OF NYX MAKE-UP PRODUCTS:

Now I will be the first to say that I am a make-up newbie. Normally I just slap some mascara on and grab some lip gloss and go. But when I received some products from Nyx, well I just had to play with them.

I originally received 5 products, but two were immediately snatched up so I'll do my review on the three I kept. The products and names are:

Bronzer/Blush: Phi Phi Island

Eyeshadow: I Dream Of St. Kitt

Pin Up Tease Mascara in Black

Collection Noir Black Eye Liner

Xtreme Lipcolor: Spicy

The first thing I grabbed was the eye shadow, it went on very smooth and the colors were great. They are actually much more vibrant than the picture shows. They are great for an evening look, but I think done right they would be fine to wear during the day.

Next was the eye liner and wow, the liner is very smooth and you don't need a lot on the brush. I actually think you can even take a bit off as a little goes a long way.

The mascara says it'll give your eyelashes a nice curl. My lashes actually already have a bit of a curl so I didn't see much difference. I really like the brush though, it keeps your lashes from getting clumpy.

As for the blush and the lipstick my skin color is too dark for both of them. I did try out the lipstick and it is so wow! The color is so vibrant and strong and it doesn't dry out your lips at all. It lasts for hours before you have to re-apply it. Although I didn't try out the blush my sister in law did. Her review was that the color is pretty and went on smoothly, but at times the glitter got out of hand. She had to remember to shake off the excess as there is so much glitter that when she didn't do it, it went everywhere. She also said the colors are perfect for going out.

**I received these products for the purpose of reviewing them. All opinions are my own except when stated otherwise.

Beauty Product Giveaway #16

Beauty Product #16:
7pc Brush Set

I bought a set of these brushes for myself a while ago and knew these would be going into the giveaway as well. They're pretty basic brushes, great for newbies like me, but the "pros" can still get some great use out of them. Now they are lower end in price, but that definitely doesn't mean the quality is bad. I'm kind of harsh on my brushes and they have took the beating pretty well. I bought this set off of amazon.com for under $10.

The 7 pc set comes with (l-r) eyebrow brush, mascara/eyelash brush, eyeshadow applicator, eyeliner brush (I use this as a contour brush), lip brush, smudger brush, and powder brush. I love the mascara/eyelash brush to get rid of those clump in mascara and to make sure my eyelashes are nice and spread out. I use the eyeliner brush to do my contour colors as it fits so neatly into my crease. Of course you can use it however you want. I actually use the lip brush as the eyeliner brush because, if you hadn't noticed I am not a huge fan of lipstick.
The brushes worked great and they've really become a great addition to my ever growing brush collection. I'm sure you guys will love them too!

Oh and the little silver holder, well its obviously not real leather and at first has a weird smell. It does go away after awhile so no worries. It also has held up really well with being tossed around. No tears or anything so the quality isn't bad there either.

What do you hate the most when it comes to your beauty regime?

Beauty Products 10 - 12 - Announced!

So I got a little behind because of family issues that I'm going with that I hadn't been able to do my reviews like I want to. Even after the kids are all asleep I can't focus because my mind starts racing a mile a minute. So without further ado the next beauty products going into the box!

#10 - LORAC Eyeshadow

"INSIDER"

This was a great deep blue that went on so smoothly and was super intense with just one application. It did blend really well and lasted for hours without a single touch up. They go for about $12 ea at Sephora.

#11 - EF STUDIO Lip Gloss
"RUMI-LUV"

The consistency of this lip gloss is super thick, rich, and creamy. The color is a creamy nude that gives just a little bit of color to your lips, but tons of moisturizer. Great lip gloss, but can be a bit on the pricey side for a bargain shopper.

#12 - ALMAY Intense I-Color
"Smoky-I Kit"

I loved this kit as it neatly puts everything in the correct order for you. For a beginner, like myself, this was really helpful. The colors were great and super easy to apply. It lasted for about 4 hrs before I had to touch up the colors a bit. Still a great palette for beginners and the pros. They're a bit mid range being about $7.00 ea, but with coupons you can get the price lowered a lot.

Beauty Product #3 - Rimmel Eyeshadow

BEAUTY PRODUCT #3

RIMMEL EYESHADOW

The nex beauty product going into the box is a Rimmel Eyeshadow #200 Spicy Brown. Rimmel eyeshadows are pretty inexpensive and cost about $3.50 in most stores. Thankfully Rimmel always has coupons and great sales so make sure to pick some up because they're great!

I tried out two colors #410 Plum Romance and #500 Posh Peacock. They are pretty pigmented and went on smoothly. The blended fairly well and it didn't take much to get a great color. Even after a few hours of wear they both still looked vibrant and great. I didn't use the eyeshadow applicator at all because I really like using my own brush. I think its pretty standard, nothing special about it.

So if you are looking for a great inexpensive alternative for some great eyeshadows check out Rimmel!

*Note: If you would like the two eyeshadows in this review to be included in the box just let me know. They were only used once to show the colors and do the review.

NYC Individual Eyes Palette

INDIVIDUAL EYES PALETTE: DARK SHADOWS

I was really happy to see a eyeshadow palette included in my Influenster Beauty Blogger Box. I had actually never seen this product from NYC before so was excited to try it out. This palette comes with 4 shadows, 1 primer, and one illuminator. Now I didn't even know there was a illuminator as I didn't even read the cover before I set off to try out. I now noticed I made a mistake and used the illuminator as a base primer instead of the actual primer.

The colors are white, light gray, medium gray, and a black. They are perfect for night time wear, but you could also use them during the day. The colors are pigmented and go on very smoothly. I did have to work a bit with the lightest gray to get the color I wanted. For me it was too light, almost looking like white. Now this could have been my fault as like I said I used the illuminator instead of the actual primer. The medium gray was super pigmented and a little definitely went a long way. It blended really easily and smoothly, it was great! The black..wow the black was just wonderful. It was super pigmented and I just needed a couple of taps of it. I definitely love this black as I have been looking for a black this pigmented. It really is going to be my go to black from now on. With me being a beginner the instructions on the back really helped, now I may not have followed them completely but I still loved the end result that I got.

Now this palette is limited edition so go out and get it before it's gone. The best thing is it is very affordable at $4.99 for this palette. It comes with everything you need to look great! NYC: New York Color is a great brand and makes some beautiful affordable make up products that everyone can use.

Profusion Eyeshadow Review

PROFUSION
COLOUR ME GLOW EYESHADOW

So this was more of an impulse buy, a hey it's only $0.99 cents so why not try it out? I had never heard of this company before so I was pleasantly surprised at the results. While it didn't last for hours and hours, it did look great. Having to touch it up wasn't hard as it went on quickly and easily. The only thing I'd change was make it not so shimmery. I have found I'm not a huge fan of shimmer in my eyeshadow. It blended easily and I didn't have a lot of fallout. I really loved this reddish copper color, seriously it became my favorite on this palette.

You can find their products at the Profusion Website, and they have a ton of great stuff. I'm already making a list of other things to try out. Of course the nail polishes will be some of the first things I try. These would definitely make some great stocking stuffers for the gals in your life. They aren't highly pigmented like more expensive brands, but they'd still be great for a night out. I think for someone who doesn't have a huge eyeshadow collection this will be a welcome addition.

I'll be giving one Profusion - Colour Me Glow away to one lucky reader! It isn't the same one pictured but if you HERE it is number 8. It has glitter mixed in for some extra sparkle. I hadn't noticed the glitter until now so I may have to go back to the store and get another one!

GIVEAWAY TIME - ENDS 9/28

HOW TO WIN:
  • Head over to the Profusion Website and comment with one other product you'd love to try.
  • Share Post to Facebook or Twitter and comment with link. (daily)

I am trying out new ways at doing giveaways so bear with me guys! If you have any issues feel free to message me and I'll try and get things fixed for you guys. If I get a lot of entries I'll up the ante and add in something else. It'll seriously be a fantastic extra and definitely worth more than $0.99!

Sephora Eyeshadow Review

SEPHORA EYESHADOW
TINY BUBBLES No 12

Dropped my shadow and it broke, such a sad day.

So I have never used Sephora Eyeshadows before as they are a bit expensive for me. Well not really expensive, but when you don't have a job $12 can be put to use in other areas. Well I was very fortunate to get some for a very low price and so here is my review!

I don't have many neutral beige tones as I like colors that pop against my skin. I think it looks great though and has changed my thoughts on neutral colors. It is called Tiny Bubbles and I'm not really sure why they chose that name. It has a great soft shimmer look to it, and that's exactly how it was. It went on super smooth and was highly pigmented. It reminded me of some soft sand, and it can be used at all times of the day.

Sadly I dropped it and it broke, but everyone helped me to fix that. Sephora eyeshadows run for about $12 each, but it is totally worth it! If they are all like Tiny Bubbles, then they are going to be great. I'm hoping to get my hands on more eyeshadows to try out and share with you guys.

So what do ya'll think?
