Noxicare Natural Pain Relief Cream Review & Giveaway

NOXICARE: NATURAL PAIN RELIEF CREAM
REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

So I was very fortunate to work with Noxicare and try out their Natural Pain Relief Cream. Noxicare's natural pain relief cream is specially formulated to target three types of pain: muscle aches, nerve pain, and inflammation. I hate always having to take medicines in order to get rid of my pain. It sort of worries me that I may take too much over time and end up worse in the end. So being able to use some cream to get rid of my chronic pain is a definite plus. One of the biggest pluses for me is that there is no smell. I hate how some of those pain creams have an offensive odor. They may work just as well, but that smell keeps me from using them. Well you definitely don't have to worry about that with Noxicare because its completely odorless!

The cream is really smooth and rich and not greasy at all. It absorbs super fast which means its reaching your aches that much quicker. It's really convenient for me especially now that I'm watching my nephew for my brother and sis-in-law. I don't want to have to wait for a cream to work before I can pick him up. Which is another reason why I love that its natural. I don't want a whole bunch of harmful chemicals around him. Especially now that he is teething and putting everything in his mouth - especially my hands. It never seems to fail, I pick him up and before I know it his mouth is biting down on my hand. Can you imagine if he did that and one of those other creams were on my hand?

So what natural ingredients is Noxicare Pain Relief Cream made of - tumeric, willow bark, ginger, holy basil, rosemary extract, alpha lipoic acids, and boswellia extract. I know some of those spices are in your spice cabinet right now, as they're in mine. I knew they tasted good, but didn't know that they also helped take away my aches and pains.
Here is a more extensive description of some of the ingredients and what they are used for.
  • Tumeric: With Tumeric studies have shown that it may help reduce the pain with its anti-inflammatory properties help to naturally relieve pain associated with arthritis by reducing inflammation in the joints.
  • Willow Bark: Willow Bark is an herb that I don't know much about, but did you know it has been used for natural pain relief and inflammation since the time of Ancient Egypt and Greece.
  • Ginger: Helps relieve muscle pains, arthritis and rheumatism, and is a catalyst for improving the effectiveness of other herbs. Ginger is also great in a lot of recipes, honestly its just a great herb.
  • Rosemary Extract: The Ancient Egyptians knew to relieve musculoskeletal pain by rubbing rosemary extract oil into their skin. If its been used for that long, then they obviously are on to something.
  • Holy Basil: Holy Basil's properties include anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral.
  • Boswellia Extract: Boswellia extracts is something I've never heard of and was surprised to know that they have been used to treat back pain.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acids: Alpha Lipoic Acid is a natural pain relief antioxidant made by every cell in the body, can't get more natural than that.
While Noxicare may be a little more expensive than your regular pain cream - you can't beat that its all natural. With people worrying more and more about what they put in and on their bodies, you can rest assured that Noxicare won't make you sick while making you better.

If you want to find out more information about Noxicare and their great product then check out their website: Noxicare.com. You will definitely be happy that you did because it is a truly natural product that really works. You can also head on over to the Noxicare Facebook Page and follow them. They sometimes have their own giveaways so you can try their product out for free.

Book Review: Finding Monsters

Finding Monsters
                       By Liss Thomas

Book Description:
Monsters are real but they're not what we'd expect. Their realm lays hidden only to be found in darkness. They watch their humans, the little ones and keep them from the dark portals leading to their world. To touch is forbidden... but not all follow the rules.
Missy has been fighting to live her entire life, but when she finds herself in a realm of unique and sometimes deadly monsters, she discovers just how much of a survivor she really is. Accidentally transferred to this mysterious realm by her monster and only friend, Charlie, he finds himself weak and unable to protector her. The only way she can defend herself and him, is to become a monster herself. But an unknown dark stalker watches her progress and if he steals her power, he will unleash a scourge on both his world and the world she left behind.

My Review:
Finding Monsters is a Young Adult novel, but don't let that discourage you from reading it. It's well written, has great characters, and the story is a great one. Liss Thomas definitely hit it out of the ballpark with this story. It's well written, has a great plot, and the characters are really like-able.

I can honestly say I've never read anything like this before. We are taught all our lives that monsters are scary, bad, and evil. All they want to do is come steal us away from our families and take us to who knows where. Well in "Finding Monsters" Liss Thomas changes that perception with one of the main characters, Charlie. Charlie is a sweet monster who is in charge of the portal linking earth to the monster world hidden under Missy's bed. He watches over the portal, but of course also watches over Missy during that time. Missy has had cancer her entire life and just has one wish...to be a normal teenager. When her time comes Charlie thinks he can make that dream come true. Sadly, with one kiss Charlie seals both of their fates. With that one kiss Charlie and Missy become bonded and when Missy starts to die so does he.

The first half of the book was a bit slow, but there was never a moment where I felt I was bored with the story. I still wanted to know what was going to happen next. The second half definitely went a lot faster when Missy is pushed into the monster realm. Missy has to fight for herself and for Charlie, and who knows if she can do it.

Well actually I know, but if you want to know then you'll have to read the book for yourself. If you'd like to buy it for yourself then check out the link below. At $0.99 cents you can't pass it up, it's such a great read that is totally safe for your young teen.

Review: Captain America Costume

Now I don't have to tell you that there was a very excited little boy waiting for this costume to arrive. It was shipped quickly and the costume arrived in excellent condition. I had to hide it when it got here because I wanted to make sure I got before pictures of the costume itself. Do you know how incredibly hard it is to hide something from a 4yr old? Yea, not easy at all.

So the costume comes much like costumes you buy in the big department stores. Paper cover showing the costume in all its glory, a plastic "bag" with a hanger attached, and the costume folded neatly inside.

The first thing I photographed was the hat or headgear. It had a large silver "A" on the front and silver wings on the sides. It has some elastic dead center on the back for a more snug fit on the head. The kiddo apparently has a larger than average sized head as it didn't fit him very well. It did stay on his head, but the eye holes were a bit off for him. It is a definite easy fix, something that I can take care of with my sewing machine. I just need to take a little from the inside of the eye holes and then fix the edging so it doesn't unravel or anything. It didn't seem to bother him at all so its something that I can take some time on doing.

The rest of the costume is an all in one type deal. Like footie pajamas, but without the feet. There are 4 velcro "buttons" on the back to keep the costume closed. They worked really well and were strong enough to keep it closed even after a few hours of play. The size I got was a 4-6 and it fit perfectly, the kiddo is a size 5.

He jumped, leaped, ran, kicked and punched in the costume and it held up great. He definitely gave it a bashing while giving the bad guys, a.k.a his cousins, a bashing. He really enjoyed the fake muscles and even flexed to show me his muscles. He found it really funny for some reason that they made him look so big.

It has now been a few weeks and I've had to hide it because he wants to wear it out everywhere. To the store, park, mall, grandma's house - everywhere! He sleeps in it as well and I'm sure if he could bathe in it he would. I'm sure he could battle some "sea monsters" while in there. This goes to show you that costumes aren't just for Halloween, but can be used for daily play time.

I did wash the costume and it held up really well. It does have a little bit of the white furries, but I can just use some "tape" and take them off. It's really simple and not that big a deal. The colors are still vivid, the velcro still works, and there is no piling at all. The costume didn't seem to have any shrinkage either which is great. The costume goes for $30 at BuyCostumes.com which is a great price because it is a quality costume. They have free shipping for orders over $75 so you can get for all the kiddos and yourself and not worry about having to wait in line. If you're like me then you end up waiting till its almost too late and have to fight to find a decent costume at the store. You end up leaving with some cheaply made costume that isn't worth the $20 you've paid for it. But with the kiddos screaming and getting pushed around by other late shoppers you take it. It doesn't last till next year either because it shrinks in the wash and doesn't fit. Or the colors fade, the buttons or velcro fall off and you're left with a new rag for your car windows.

So if you're looking for a great wide selection of costumes then check out BuyCostumes.com and you will definitely not regret it. Also, don't think that buying in July is too early because before you know it October will be on us and then it'll be too late for you.

Book Review: Sheep!

Sheep
by
Martin D Rothery

Remember that hilarious book I reviewed a while back called, "Cows". Yup this is also written by the same author and is just as funny. Now I do think Martin Rothery has an unhealthy obsession with barnyard animals. I honestly don't know what went through his mind when he wrote these books. They're crazy and unbelievably ridiculous and that's what makes them so great. It's okay to have fun sometimes and read something that isn't educational and won't forward your career in some way. Well I guess if your job has to do with talking sheep and cows going up against humans, well this book is perfect for you!

Seriously, Martin D Rothery is the best animal psychic I've ever heard of. Psychics are the ones that talk to things, correct? Well either way he happens to be able to see into the minds of barnyard animals, aka dinner. Yea, that's right I said dinner, although it wasn't always that way. There was a time where cows and sheep ruled the world! Yea I know it's hard to see a hamburger and lamb chop leading anything, but it's true. Martin R got it straight out of the sheep's mouths. This book is a must read if you're wanting to find out the real history of man.

Okay so it's not really a reference type book and shouldn't really be taken seriously. Sheep and cows are known to be sworn enemies, everyone knows that. Sheep just happen to keep cows around because they offer protection. You know if you are going up against a human, who do you think will look more appetizing? The tiny little furball or a delicious huge steak? Yea, I thought so. I almost felt so horrible when the cows and sheep started dropping like flies when man first realized they would be good to eat...almost. Oh and if you think football was a human creation, think again. You've also probably never even noticed how sneaky sheep and cows are because of...camouflage. Yup, another thing you thought men came up with.

Martin D Rothery really brings barnyard animals to life in such a funny way. You will definitely be cracking up throughout the book. It's well written and I would highly recommend it as a great summer read. I would read this book before reading Cows!  because it kind of touches on some of the things found in that book. Of course there is no problem in reading this one second just as long as you read it.

Book Review: Hidden Under Her Heart

Hidden Under Her Heart
By Rachelle Ayala

Meet The Author:

How did you first decide that you would become an author?
I always enjoyed writing short stories or satires, but never took it seriously until Michal jumped off the pages of Scripture and into my imagination. Here was a woman who was much maligned and misunderstood, because she was too independent and dared to defy authority in a time when women were viewed as property. Michal loved David before he became King. She defied her father to save his life, but was repaid with his marrying other wives and concubines. Her most famous act was to scold David for dancing lewdly in front of the Ark of the Covenant, which at this point, she is never heard from again. To me, there is an unfinished story begging to be told and while studying Matthew Henry's Bible Commentary, I found a comment on 2nd Samuel 3:5 that led me to believe that David actually loved Michal and there was a tragic reason why she never had a son who became king. Obviously I mixed fantasy with fact, motivated by the need to tell Michal's story in a way that is affirming to this great woman who saved not only David, but the line to Jesus Christ, yet was unappreciated and scorned by most preachers.

Is there any special way you come up with the ideas for your books?
Ideas take life on their own. I honestly don't know where they start, but once I start, I play out scenarios in my mind as if I were watching a movie. My most creative times are when I'm jogging. So I should do that more often. I start with a general conflict and set of characters, and from there, the story comes together as I write and daydream. For example, while working on Knowing Vera, I introduced a minor character named Krista. I thought about her background, what she wants, dreams about and why? Something comes to mind about protecting dugongs. What's a dugong? Why is this knocking on my brain? I google it and discover they are severely endangered and subject to poaching. Now I have a potential storyline. I add in a murder, then the who, why, when, where? and of course we must have LOVE. So let's take the twin brothers in my current Work in Progress and see how they can mix things up.

Why do your books all seem to have very different themes? They almost seem written by different people.
That is strange, isn't it? My voice changes with each book. I'm not very good at replicating anything, even myself. I like the freedom of living in the world of the current set of characters, absorbing everything from them, and immersing in their reality. But after I finish one book, there's a period of divorcing myself from one set of characters and moving in with the next. It is actually quite an emotional process for me and makes me sad and excited, like falling out of love with one person and back in love with someone else.

Tell us about your upcoming work?
Knowing Vera is the next book in my contemporary "Chance For Love" series. If you've read Broken Build and Hidden Under Her Heart, then you already know Vera, to some extent, but not really. Vera has a flirtacious but tough public face and hides her emotions under a don't care attitude. But in Knowing Vera, she is forced to take off that veneer and face her fears as well as the secret she hid, that her father jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge because he was suspected of murdering a wealthy woman, one who happens to be her current bed buddy's late mother. Vera is unable to give him the usual brushoff because he suffered a crippling injury where he lost his leg. The story deals with admitting feelings to yourself and discovering that love is not real unless someone truly knows the real you, not just the illusion you portray.

Have your children read your books, if so what do they think about them?
My daughter (who's over 18) has read my books. She actually beta reads for me and gives me suggestions and feedback. She probably thinks her crazy mother has all sorts of strange ideas to write about and is amused.

Who are some of the authors you enjoy reading?
Melissa Foster, for her dramatic situations and characters that pull you in. Melisa Hamling, for the intensely sweet way her characters fall in love, Tracy Sumner, for her historical women who are ahead of their times and strong, unyielding men that can't resist them, and Mary Forbes for that intense addictive love story you can't get enough of.

Thanks for answering my questions, anything else you would like to add?
Thanks for having me, Sally. I enjoy writing and the fact that I never know what adventures are in store for me next. But most of all, I enjoy the reactions I get from readers. I'm fulfilled when I have made a positive difference in someone's life.

My Review:
This is the third book I've read and reviewed from Rachelle Ayala and she never ceases to surprise me. There were so many things going on in this book, but not too much that I got lost. It does touch on some controversial issues two being racial issues and abortion.

So in this story we meet MaryAnne Torres and Lucas Knight, both seem like strong characters in the beginning. Sadly, we find out really soon that looks definitely are deceiving and they are both pretty damaged people. Now for me I found it kind of annoying with their back and forth indecisiveness. I grew up in a single parent household so I learned really quick that I'd have to be strong. So sometimes when reading stories where the woman is the "come and save me" type, well it turns me off. I kept asking myself, "Why won't she just say what she wants?" Then I started saying, "Why won't he just make up his mind?!" It got a little tiresome at times, but not to the point where I wanted to stop reading. It was really an emotional rollercoaster and kind of had me thinking, "How much more could one person take?" When the topic of abortion came up it was aimed more towards a prolife angle. I'm pro choice but I never felt like it was being forced upon me. Rachelle touched a bit on the religious reasons and that the child should have a chance at life. She also showed the other side of that with MaryAnne first choosing abortion as the better choice for her at the time. Now she ends up changing her mind, but not because she found god, but because she felt that adoption was a better choice. I think Rachelle really did it tastefully and I think it made me think about abortion and the other options out there. I'm still prochoice though, but I can say I am a little more open to seeing other views.

At the end I think it all turned out well and even though this is a romance story, there wasn't much love-making. So it wasn't racy at all and a really great read. Rachelle Ayala's books always have a religious theme to them, but they never feel like she is trying to hard. I'm not a religious person so this makes it a easy read for me.

Book Review: Crime and Passion

Crime and Passion
by
Chantel Rhondeau

This book is a mystery romance book leaning more towards mystery throughout the book. You start off the book with the main character, Madeline Scott, finding a dead body on the beach. Well Chantel Rhondeau wasted no time and it was non-stop for the rest of the book. It literally took me less than a day to read this book because I couldn't put it down. Now while it was a great read it wasn't all peachy.

There were times where I was extremely frustrated with the back and forth relationship between the two main characters, Madeline Scott and Officer Donovan Andrews. I wanted to scream with his crude bad boy image and her weakness to it. I know C Rhondeau was trying to make Madeline seem like a strong woman, but it was really evident that she wasn't. It wasn't endearing though, for me and my opinion it was pretty darn annoying. If she were a friend of mine it would get old pretty quickly. I'd be rolling my eyes at her, "Do you think he really likes me? A like-like and not like the women that he bedded within a day? I can change him, right?" No, you can't change him! As strong as she was for overcoming her own past issues it was totally over shadowed by her low self esteem. I wanted her to either own her decision in her relationship with Donovan, or lack thereof, or she needed to completely walk away.

Now for Donovan...oh he is definitely a man that I would totally hate. He is like a male peacock strutting around trying to impress the females. Sure he opens up and you find out he has had some bad times in his life. Okay not just bad, but pretty darn horrible yet it still doesn't convince me that he is a good man. Now he may be a good person, but to me he would make a horrible boyfriend. All throughout the book the things he did and said were totally unacceptable. When he automatically moved his clothes into Madeline's house my first thoughts were...how is that okay? How is she not saying anything about that!?

As frustrated as I was with the romance portion of the book there was never a moment where I wanted to stop reading. Sure the flip flopping between the two was a little annoying. Sure their sweet endearments were a bit over the top. But Chantel Rhondeau kept the story moving forward which didn't give me the chance to truly "get over the book".  Once I got annoyed with the relationship, boom something else happened which carried you into a different direction. There weren't too many racy moments in the book, but a lot of lovey dovey "snippets".  I wouldn't recommend you letting your 10yr old read this, but if an older teen got their hands on it I wouldn't be too worried. The mystery definitely gives you a chance to take a breather from Madeline's and Donovan's up and down relationship. I did kind of know what was going on, but didn't have the whole picture. So by the end of the book I was thoroughly surprised at who the murderer was and why they did it. I think if you really like crime or romance books then this is definitely a book you should pick up.

NuNaat Hair Products

NuNaat Brazilian Keratin Products

NuNaat was formed in Brazil using the natural resources found there to bring us some awesome hair care products. I was very fortunate to be sent 5 different products to try out and I took them for a spin. I have long thin hair that is wavy to curly. Depending on how I dry it, the curlier or wavier it gets. I have an issue with oiliness so finding a shampoo, conditioner and styling products that won't make that worse hasn't been easy. I love my hair even when its being "bad" so I don't want to use hair care products that are harsh on it. Thankfully Nunaat's Brazilian Keratin Products are all formaldehyde and sodium chloride free.

DAILY CARE SHAMPOO:
The Nunaat Brazilian Keratin Shampoo is formulated with green keratin and amino acids to provide a deep cleaning without being abrasive. It is sodium chloride free and made for daily use. I myself actually don't wash my hair with shampoo every day as I find it really strips my hair of the natural oils it has. I did go ahead and for 5 days straight I washed my hair with the NuNaat shampoo. It worked great and I didn't feel that it dried out my hair. It left it clean, but not stripped so it was still full of life and "moisture". I am still huge on smells so was delighted with the clean, fresh, light scent of the shampoo. It lathered nicely and rinsed off quickly. Definitely a shampoo that needs to be in your shower!

DAILY CARE CONDITIONER:
The conditioner contains high capacity conditioning ingredients to make for easy detangling. Now for someone with curly hair that is a huge deal. Growing up I hated my curly hair because it was so difficult to comb. I think for those with curly hair, we've all felt that way at one point in our lives. The Nunaat Brazilian Keratin Conditioner helps to tame frizz and unruly hair leaving you with silky soft hair. The conditioner is super thick and really coated my hair really well. The smell was a little different, it wasn't totally unpleasant, but not the same fresh light scent that the shampoo had. I like to rinse off my conditioner using cold water which helps to seal in all that conditioning goodness. If you've never done it, try it out and you'll definitely see a difference.

LIQUID KERATIN LEAVE IN RECONSTRUCTION:
This product is designed for heat styling and works wonderfully with a flat iron. I have a go to product when flat ironing my hair so hesitated a little when using this product. I was so glad I gave it a chance because it worked so well. It is a clear liquid that didn't leave any sticky residue and didn't weigh my hair down. Just make sure that your hair is dry enough before putting a flat iron to it because sizzling hair is no bueno! It has a more perfumey smell in my opinion, but it is not over powering and after styling leaves a nice clean scent.

SERUM ULTRA SHINE:
The ultra shine serum is so great and I love the shininess that it brings to my hair. I am so glad I got to try this out because I love shine products. It just helps to make your hair look so much healthier and full of life. The smell is almost non existent, but it doesn't matter because that's not what its for. What it is for is to help your hair look shiny without weighing it down. It totally succeeds in that and leaves your hair shiny without looking greasy! I have tried other products that just ruin the overall look of your hair because it leaves you looking like a wet dog. It absorbs really quickly, no stickiness, tons of shine, and no weighing down of your hair. It's a perfect shine product and if you don't get any of the other products in the line, this is definitely the one to get.

INTENSIVE HAIR MASK:
Last, but not least is the NuNaat hair mask. You use this instead of the regular conditioner and it essentially deep moisturizes your hair leaving it softer and more manageable. It has a good smell and is so thick that you don't need a lot at all. It went on easily and rinsed out easily as well too, just remember to rinse with cold water afterwards to close up the cuticles. My only gripe is that it takes 10-20 minutes. With having a large household it isn't easy taking a shower longer than 30 minutes. So I definitely had to leave this for late night after the kids were sleeping.

Overall, I'd give the whole product like an A-, because the smells of some of the products could be better and 10-20 mins is a long wait for me. You can buy NuNaat products at some Walgreens and Sally Beauty Shops. You can also purchase them online at Walgreens.com and Drugstore.com. The prices vary from region to region, but are all pretty affordable.

UGLEE Pen Review

UGLEE PEN
by Dr James Lee

The UGLEE pen is the Ultimate grip pen made by Dr James Lee. Dr James Lee has his BS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and his MD from Stanford University School of Medicine. While in college he found out real quick how uncomfortable all the writing could be with regular pens. He used all different types, materials, and shapes and still none worked well for him so he decided to come up with his own. It took Dr Lee 8 pen obsessed years to create the UGLEE pen! He must have a very patient and understanding wife, although the way I love pens I'd be right in there trying them all out!

The UGLEE pen weighs only 11 grams, which is less than 1/2 ounce. The shape fits perfectly into your hand, for a better grip and feel. The UGLEE pen also features the smoothest ink system known, better than roller ball, gel ink, or fountain ink pen!

Now, I suffer from arthritis and a little carpel tunnel so writing has become an issue for me. I actually love to write though and even write my reviews on a paper before typing them up. It makes me feel like I'm able to really put down what I think without all the extra mistakes. Also it gives me a chance to edit my work before it gets posted here. I have been using the UGLEE pen and notice that I'm able to write more longer. I don't have the immediate strain that I get from other pens. It's comfortable to use and I actually don't think its that ugly. I like the rubbery type grips on the pen, I think it gives it character. It also has a little glitter mixed into the dark rubber, glitter! It's a pen after my own heart and has become my favorite pen to use.

So if you're like me and love to write then you should definitely look into getting an UGLEE Pen
