L.A. Colors Nail Polish Review

I  love L.A. Colors Nail Polish because they're super affordable, pigmented, and last for about 3 days, which is comparative to other brands. So while at Dollar General waiting in line I noticed the polish rack, or course. So I searched through the bottles and bottles of polishes and settled on two, "Cactus" was one of them. Now I'm not really sure why it's called cactus because it isn't green at all.

It has a dark purplish base with shimmery gold holographic glitter. The glitter is very, very fine and gives you a great look. The colors go from a yellow to an orange for the shimmer. I didn't really even notice it until I went outside to shoot these photos. I am so in love with this polish and know you'll love it too! It went on super smooth and unlike other glitter polishes came off relatively easily. I think because the glitter is so fine you don't have to deal with the huge chunks taking longer to come off.

I added some cute little flowers to it which I also grabbed for $1, they are also made by L.A. Colors. They had a ton of different styles, all cute of course. So wanting to make my nails even prettier I bought a pack. Sadly these didn't perform as well and they were peeling off as soon as I topped them with a top coat. They stuck fine on dry polish, but as soon as I got my top coat the edges curled upwards. I really wanted these to work as I can't do this type of nail art myself. So for this product I had to give it a thumbs down. I think if they could work better on the stickiness on the back then this would be perfect!

So feeling a little let down I reached for my second polish, "Meadow". Meadow reminds me of a robin's egg blue, or even a Tiffany's blue. It is so pretty and pale, I just love it! I am a huge fan of brighter colors and this one kind of gives me a bright color with understated style. Well if that's even possible, let's just say it is okay? Sadly it bit the dust after two days, but that included some heavy scraping on some pans. Still even if its only 2 days that's more than enough for me because I am always changing my nail color. Its still beautiful and you should definitely try it out. Hey it's only a dollar and so worth it!

NYC "Classic Coral Creme" Polish Review

Long Wearing Polish
#130 CLASSIC CORAL CREME

So while at Target I decided I needed a new polish. Yes I needed a new one and because it was $0.94 I decided it was definitely coming home with me. Now when I think about coral I actually think of a more peach colored pink, and not a hot pink. This polish has a bubble gum pink polish with a ton of white shimmer. It is a very sheer polish that you can build upon. With as sheer as it is, it took three coats to fully cover my nail.

I normally wouldn't wear such a bright pink, but I thought it looked cute and wasn't too overpowering. It was smooth and went on easily. I didn't have a chance to see how long it actually lasted because I was also trying out another polish. I have tried other NYC polishes and they lasted an average length of time, they were on par with more expensive brands.

I think you should go buy yourself some NYC Long Lasting nail polishes because they have some great shades, they're super duper affordable, and they go chip free for days.

Julep August Box Review

BEAUTY CORNER REVIEWS
JULEP August Box

"Stefani"

So Julep jumped on the metallic trend and sent out to great colors - Dakota and Stefani. Stefani is a great metallic silver that looks fantastic! It did have a different consistency than other polishes. I noticed the difference because of all the tiny bubbles that ended up on my nails. Honestly I like the way they look, it's really makes it look more like bubbling metal. It was hard to not grab too much on the brush as its kind of thick.

"DAKOTA"

Also in the box was Dakota which is a copper colored polish. It really reminds me a shiny new copper penny. It too was a bit thick and ended up being even more bubbly and uneven than Stefani. Now I'm sure its my shoddy work that made them like that, as I've seen them look super smooth on others pictures. Anyway it looked great in the sun. It was super shiny and I got nothing but compliments when I wore it. Seriously love the whole metallic trend!

Last thing in the box was the best thing in the box, well in my opinion. It was Julep Nail Polish Remover and I'm in love. Seriously it's fantastic! I love the little top that you can pump the remover onto your cotton ball. Depending on how much you turn the top open, that's how much remover will come out. If that wasn't awesome enough the remover itself is great. It really left my cuticles feeling soft and no stinky smell. Seriously I'm in love with this stuff and will have to buy more.

So you can get in on the fun for about $19.95 every month by joining Julep Maven. By joining you can either get 2 polishes and a another Julep product, or get the It Girl which gives you three polishes. Now at first $20 a month seems like a lot, but considering how much polishes are, its not a bad value. If you were to get the It Girl Box it would be about $6.65 per polish. That is cheaper than a few other polish brands that you can buy in many department stores. So what are you waiting for? Just try it out and if you don't like it then you can cancel it, anytime.  You can try out the promo code "PENNY" to see if it works and get your first box for $.01
