Olay Shine Shine Go Away Cleanser

I received the Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away in my #ParadiseVoxbox courtesy of Influenster. I am always open to trying new facial cleansers because you never really know for sure if there is something out there better for your skin.

So when I opened it up to try the first thing I did was smell it. I'm huge on smells and if I don't like the smell of something I find it very hard to use it. It has a good clean scent, not medicine-y or even too soapy. The texture was stiff and creamy, and the color is a silvery gray. Now one thing to mention is that a little definitely goes a long way. I got my normal amount that I would use in my other facial cleansers and because its so stiff, I really had to work with it. If you get too much at once it is a bit difficult to lather up. So when the directions say get a small amount, they definitely mean it. It is meant to be like a mask, which I'm guessing is why it's so dense.

I have problematic skin, some cleanser give me major issues. They can burn, cause redness, itchiness - etc. This didn't at all, although I'm not really sure its made for people with sensitive skin. I can tell you that if you do have sensitive skin, you could still probably use this. The fragrance isn't very strong so it won't irritate your skin. It does have kaolin clay and witch hazel in it, so if those ingredients give you problems then its best not to use this.

I think Shine, Shine Go Away works best for those who suffer from oily skin. I am one such person and have tried many things to try and get a handle on my oily skin. This actually works and gives my skin a smooth, almost matte finish. I know it's not really matte, but my skin isn't shiny either! It feels clean and looks clean, no shininess on my nose and forehead. No splotchy, shiny redness on my cheeks either, just clean good looking skin.

The prices range anywhere from $6.99 to $8.99, occasionally it does go on sale, or there are coupons in the Sunday paper. Either way you should still try it out if you're looking for a facial cleanser that is tough on dirt, but not on your skin.

Olay Fresh Effects has seven products in the line, and I've tried three of them: Shine, Shine Go Away, Bead Me Up Exfoliating Cleanser, S'Wipe Out Make-up Cloths. I can assure you that they are all really great products. If you are a looking for a great new facial cleanser then I'd highly recommend checking out Shine, Shine Go Away.

Olay Fresh Effects

Olay Fresh Effects
S'Wipe Out! Refreshing Make-Up Removal

While perusing CVS I saw those new Olay face products that are part of the Fresh Effects line. They run around $8-$12 dollars for the various products. I love face wipes because they are just super convenient to have around. So you can imagine my excitement when they were $3.99 each instead of the $8.29 reg price! I ended up buying 4 of them because that's all that was left. Yup I cleared the shelf, but they were restocked the next day so don't be so mad.

Anyway, the wipes are packaged much like most face wipes. I've kind of got a love hate relationship with this kind of packaging. I like the packaging as its pretty easy to open and throw into a bag. I hate the packaging because sometimes the top loses its stickiness. When that happens you basically have a package of napkins because they're useless. Now the wipes are a good size and work really well. They have a sweet clean smell to them and they're really moist.

So how do they stand up to a face full of make-up? Well I had mixed results. It took off my cream, power, and eyeshadow quickly and easily. I did have to wipe a few times though, but after two swipes it was completely off. Now for the eyeliner and mascara - well it didn't take it off much at all. I had to go over it with my Almay remover pads to get it all off. It still worked really well and left my skin feeling good afterwards. That's thanks to the vitamin E it has in it. I think for $8.79 its an expensive buy, so if you see it on sale I'd pick it up. I don't think I'd buy it at retail price because it wasn't too different from other face wipes.

Product Review: Olay Total Effects

OLAY TOTAL EFFECTS
CC CREAM

So was super excited to get this great Klout perk from Olay. I have used bb (beauty balm) cream before and loved it, but was pretty unfamiliar with cc cream. What's the big difference between the two, right? Well first off BB cream is a combination of a moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock all in one neat little package. How awesome is that? So BB Cream seems pretty awesome already, how could they even make that better.

Well the people over at Olay are pushing the envelope with their CC cream, or "Color Correcting" cream. It has all the benefits of a BB Cream, but adds powerful anti-aging and skin correcting ingredients. Olay is the first brand to do this, so there are no alternatives. Honestly, you don't need one because this has to be the best foundation/cream out there.

BEFORE CC CREAM
One of the great things about CC cream is that it is completely oil free! I have skin that tends to be on the oily side so this was huge for me. Now one thing I noticed was that the formula of the CC cream made it way easier to blend to get a great color on my skin. It really didn't look like I had anything on my face, which I loved. Now both the bb and cc creams have sunblock, but Olay goes a little further with its anti-aging properties and tone correction.

The cc cream went on so easily and was so smooth. I didn't really have to add anything extra to it. I normally add a bit of powder on top, but it wasn't needed with the cc cream. Plus I didn't want to add anything extra because I thought it might change the nice color I got with the cc cream.  I only took about 5 minutes to put it all over my face and neck, and I think it looked great.

AFTER CC CREAM

I just added some eyeshadow, mascara, and liner to my eyes and the whole look was done! I have to say my skin has never looked as smooth as it does with Olay's CC Cream. Now its a bit on the pricier side, but because you use so little it'll actually last you longer. Also because it blends so well, no need to buy more than one shade to get that perfect look for yourself.

So overall, Olay's Total Effects Tone Correcting CC Cream got two huge thumbs up. It's definitely a product you need to look into!

Beauty Corner Review: Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab

COVERGIRL & OLAY TONE REHAB
2 IN 1 FOUNDATION BASE AND PRESSED POWDER COMPACT
Received for Review from BzzAgent

So I was very lucky to have received the Covergirl & Olay BzzCampaign. I haven't really ever worn foundation because finding a good one is just so daunting. The kit included a welcome letter, a information booklet, tons of coupons to share, Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation Base in #165 Tawny, and a pressed powder in #360 medium/deep. The packaging was sleek and modern and I loved the colors. Everything was neatly packaged and it looked very professional.

I first reached for the foundation base and realized that I had put down the wrong shade. It is really dark for my skin and it almost looked like I put dirt on my face. That was definitely my fault and a total amateur mistake. I still used it just made sure to really smooth it out evenly so at least the color was the same. The foundation was super creamy, non-greasy, and really covered my skin quickly. It didn't take much to cover my whole face so this little bottle will definitely last me. One thing that I loved about this foundation was that it didn't have a gross smell. I've strayed away from other liquid foundations because they were just to smelly. I don't feel comfortable putting something that smells bad on my face. It just doesn't seem right to me, does it seem right to you?
So what is so special about Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation? Well is your foundation clinically shown to help improve your skin tone over time? It contains Olay serum, which is what hydrates you skin, and it also includes Glycerine, Niacinamide, and N-acetyl Glucosamine, which penetrate your skin's outer layers to moisturize. Wow, now those are a lot of big words that most of us don't understand. What I do understand is that this foundation is supposed to help my skin tone, hydrate my skin, and cover any discoloration with just one pump! Now those are words that we all can understand, but does it do that? Well I'm going to find out because I'll be trying it out for the next few weeks.

Oh but that wasn't all that came in the kit, don't think I've forgotten the pressed powder that came with it as well. Thankfully the pressed powder was closer to my skintone and blended really well for a more natural look. I don't want to look like I'm wearing a ton of make-up, I want to look natural. It was very smooth and super easy to apply. It came with a very soft application poof which made it easy to apply the powder. I just followed the simple tips in the Bzzguide on how to apply the products. It came in handy for this clueless novice, which of course I mean myself.

So I hope you'll be following my updates as I go along using this make-up daily. I hope that it works and takes away the bad stuff on my skin. Believe me I really need the help in making my skin look more youthful and balanced.

Without Foundation and Pressed Powder

With Foundation and Pressed Powder

Well apparently the second photo really looks much smoother and darker. Not sure if being darker is a bad thing, but it actually wasn't too far from what my natural skin tone was. What do you guys think, I'd actually really like to know what ya'll think! So leave me some comments. :) Oh and if ya'll are wondering about the scar across the bridge of my nose...well I'll share if you guys ask about it. lol
