Olay Shine Shine Go Away Cleanser

I received the Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away in my #ParadiseVoxbox courtesy of Influenster. I am always open to trying new facial cleansers because you never really know for sure if there is something out there better for your skin.

So when I opened it up to try the first thing I did was smell it. I'm huge on smells and if I don't like the smell of something I find it very hard to use it. It has a good clean scent, not medicine-y or even too soapy. The texture was stiff and creamy, and the color is a silvery gray. Now one thing to mention is that a little definitely goes a long way. I got my normal amount that I would use in my other facial cleansers and because its so stiff, I really had to work with it. If you get too much at once it is a bit difficult to lather up. So when the directions say get a small amount, they definitely mean it. It is meant to be like a mask, which I'm guessing is why it's so dense.

I have problematic skin, some cleanser give me major issues. They can burn, cause redness, itchiness - etc. This didn't at all, although I'm not really sure its made for people with sensitive skin. I can tell you that if you do have sensitive skin, you could still probably use this. The fragrance isn't very strong so it won't irritate your skin. It does have kaolin clay and witch hazel in it, so if those ingredients give you problems then its best not to use this.

I think Shine, Shine Go Away works best for those who suffer from oily skin. I am one such person and have tried many things to try and get a handle on my oily skin. This actually works and gives my skin a smooth, almost matte finish. I know it's not really matte, but my skin isn't shiny either! It feels clean and looks clean, no shininess on my nose and forehead. No splotchy, shiny redness on my cheeks either, just clean good looking skin.

The prices range anywhere from $6.99 to $8.99, occasionally it does go on sale, or there are coupons in the Sunday paper. Either way you should still try it out if you're looking for a facial cleanser that is tough on dirt, but not on your skin.

Olay Fresh Effects has seven products in the line, and I've tried three of them: Shine, Shine Go Away, Bead Me Up Exfoliating Cleanser, S'Wipe Out Make-up Cloths. I can assure you that they are all really great products. If you are a looking for a great new facial cleanser then I'd highly recommend checking out Shine, Shine Go Away.

Goody TangleFix Brush

Another great product included in the Influenster #ParadiseVoxBox was a Goody TangleFix Brush. I had never heard of this brush before so it was a totally new product for me. I was pretty excited to read that it was 70% more gentle (with detangling) than your regular brush. For my niece this was totally going to be a worthwhile product.

The brush features:
• Super-flexible bristles work with the hair, not against it
• Lightweight for less fatigue
• Easy grip sides for better control
• Dual size design for children's or adult's hands

So looking at the features themselves, the bristles are super soft. They're made out of plastic, and honestly I didn't think it would work with my niece's hair. She has thick unruly hair so I use a heavy duty brush for it. My niece is 13 so she can brush her own hair now. She started out from the bottom and worked her way up her hair. She didn't complain at all about the bristles being to hard.

The brush is really lightweight, and the shape helps to grip it better. I have hand issues and can't really grasp things for too long. I didn't have any issues with using this brush, it was pretty easy and went quickly. I have a smaller hand and found that the brush still sat comfortably in my palm. Because you're able to grip it easier you don't get any slippage just in case the brush does get caught in your hair. I couldn't really say if it would be easy to hold if a young child were to use it as I don't have any. My niece's hand is actually bigger than mine and she definitely didn't have issues grabbing onto it.

My niece had fun playing with this brush, really trying to get her hair tangled up so she could try it. I thought it would be better for her to try because over the years my hair has thinned out. She said it went through really easily, it didn't hurt at all, and it left her hair feeling really soft.

The brush is fairly inexpensive being less than 8 dollars it definitely won't hurt your wallet to try this out. You can buy it at Target, for sure but I'd keep an eye out at other major big box stores. This brush will definitely make brushing your little ones hair much easier, less painful, and tear free.

Dr Scholl's Heel Insoles

One of the products that I received in the #ParadiseVoxbox from Influenster were Dr. Scholl's High Heel Insoles. They sent insoles that would fit a size 6 shoe up to a size 10. I have a size 7 foot so can't comment on how the insole works for a larger size shoe.

The package was easy to open up and the insoles were really easy to put on the shoe. The insoles are clearly labeled with left and right, heel and toe for easy application. You just have to peel off the backing and stick it on. Yup it has a sticky backing which means you can stick it on any shoe you have in your closet. Sadly the stickiness doesn't last forever and you're left with insoles that don't stay put. I understand that they aren't meant to last forever though, so I think the length of time it did last was very reasonable. For me that amount of time was about a month or so, and that was with numerous changes from heels to my favorite flats.

See the orange line - thats the arch on the insole!
It is perfect for all kinds of shoes, not just heels. For me sandals tend to hurt my feet the most because they have no arch. I have a natural arch on my foot so when I wear flats my feet pay the price. The insoles have some extra gel support where the toes are, and they have an arch. It makes wearing flats and heels so comfortable, especially when they don't have an arch. It means I can wear them longer and be on my feet for longer periods of time without wanting to cut my shoes off and chuck them out the window.

Now their price is a little more expensive when compared to other insoles, but they are well worth it. Also you'll get a good amount of wear before having to replace them. Dr Scholl's runs coupons in the paper periodically so you'll never really have to pay full price for them. So if you're looking for some comfy insoles and haven't decided on the ones you want to buy, then you should definitely try Dr Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles.

NYC Sparkle Eyedust Eyeshadow

New York Color Sparkle Eyedust

Inside my #ParadiseVoxbox was a NYC Sparkle Eyedust eyeshadow in "Smoky Topaz". It is a shimmery light bronze with a hint of purple. The eyeshadow itself is super pigmented and at first I felt like I had applied too much. The color is bright and shimmery, and definitely popped. I added some green to it because I felt it really went well with it. Of course I hadn't realized my eyeliner was messed up until after editing the photo, doh! my bad. As you can see though the color looks great and blended really well. I used the applicator and a regular make-up brush. While the applicator worked alright, I still really prefer a brush instead. The applicator is like the type you'd have on a lip gloss. I found it to be a bit messy when pulling it out to use it. It would get a little bit too much eyeshadow onto it which cause a bit of fallout. No matter how I pulled the applicator out (slow, fast) it still ending up dropping eyeshadow all over the place. It wasn't too big of a deal at the beginning, but I had to be careful when reapplying it because I didn't want it to get all over my clothes. Speaking of reapplying, it actually was hours before I had to touch it up a bit. It definitely would last the whole night if you had a date or ladies night out, and you wouldn't have to mess with it.

There are a total of 10 shades

  1. 879 Opal Sparkle: Shimmery White
  2. 880 Golden Champagne: Light Shimmery God
  3. 881 Pink Topaz: Very Light Pink S
  4. 882 Smokey Topaz Light Purple Shimmer with brown undertones
  5. 883 Amber Glitz: Darker Shimmery Gold
  6. 884 Bronze Shimmer
  7. 885 Amethyst Dazzle
  8. 886 Aquamarine Sparkle
  9. 887 Brilliant Sapphire
  10. 888 Diamond Dust

The best thing is that they're super affordable so you can get every color and not have a huge hit to your wallet. They're only about $2 a piece so why not try them all out? You can find pictures of all the available colors on the NYC Color website: Click Here.

Palmolive Soft Touch Review

PALMOLIVE SOFT TOUCH
COCONUT BUTTER & VITAMIN E

I was really fortunate to be chosen to review Palmolive's Soft Touch dishwashing liquid - courtesy of Influenster. First off I am a hand washer, yup sadly no dishwasher here so I end up washing dishes at least twice a day. With having such a large household, 8 members to be exact, we go through liquid like crazy. It's been a bit difficult to find a liquid that will clean all my dishes, leave no grease, and doing in the most economical way. Dishwashing liquid can be expensive so I don't have to time to waste money on liquids that just don't work.

Sure I've tried some of those $1 liquids, but at the end of the day the bottle is half done and my hands are drier than the Mojave Desert. That's pretty darn dry! So when I got this pretty green box in the mail my heart lept, yes it really did. I've used Palmolive before, but had always stuck to the original in the green bottle. It wasn't as harsh on my hands as the cheap brands were though.

The first one I grabbed to try was the "Coconut Butter". First off the smell is amazing and it's pretty strong so you smell it while you're washing your dishes. It leaves your kitchen smelling so good afterwards so who needs air freshner? The first thing I did notice was that the liquid itself was milky and looser than the regular liquid. It kind of worried me because I wasn't sure that it would have the same grease fighting quality as the original. I grabbed my sponge and dabbed a little liquid on there. It lathered up nicely and actually was able to clean all my cups before having to add some more soap. After I was done there was still a lot of liquid left, well duh, and my dishes not only were clean, but like I said above my kitchen smelled great! Now the smell doesn't really transfer to your dishes though because I smelled them. Especially the plastics which tend to hold any god awful smell. Nope there was no smell as the soap washes off completely leaving everything squeeky clean.

Next up was the Vitamin E which was actually pretty hard to use because the OCD person in me was going crazy. Use a new bottle when you still have a whole bottle sitting right there on your kitchen counter?! Oh the humanity, what a world....what a world. I took some deep breaths and got my sponge ready for some Vitamin E soft touch. Like its coconut butter brethren it too was milky, but creamy at the same time. The scent is much lighter than the coconut butter which kind of made me sad. I mean you see that pink color and you think of either something really fruity or really floral. Sadly it was neither and wish it had smelled a bit stronger. Now I had some high hopes for this one because it's got the Vitamin E in it. It must make your hands feel so soft like a baby's bottom. It too performed much like its distant cousin regular green Palmolive and left my dishes clean and sparkling. But did it do any better than the coconut butter on making my hands soft? Not really, actually they were pretty much the same which isn't really a bad thing. It does what it says it would do, make your hands softer. Or at least softer than they would normally be if you used regular soap.

This was the one that I ended up giving to my sis in law. I think out of the two I preferred the coconut butter because the smell was just so good.  I'm not saying that the Vitamin E was subpar just that I favored the other more. That's all, nothing bad to see here folks. Oh and let's not mention to the SIL that I used the soap. She did mention it looking "low" like someone had used it, but no one would ever gift something that had been used...right?

A back shot of the bottles - Tough on Grease!

Now I don't want you to think that these dishwashing soaps are supposed to replace your handy dandy lotion, because they won't. No don't expect some miracle to happen and that your hands will be transformed each time you use Soft Touch. That's not what they're saying - they're saying compared to other REGULAR soaps Palmolive Soft Touch will leave your hands feeling softer -- which they do. My hands weren't all completely dried out making me slather on mounds of lotion. I just needed a little dab here and there, which for me is a great improvement. Also compared to other premium brands Palmolive is really affordable. I normally go crazy and stock up buying at least 8 bottles when  get the chance. It's a great soap and Palmolive Soft Touch is a great soap too with a little extra kick.  They also come out with great coupons to help you save when buying their products. Influenster included 5 in my box which I shared 4 of them with family. Well I had to keep one so I could try out the last variety in the bunch: Soft Touch with Aloe.

Want your own bottle of Palmolive Soft Touch? Then head on over to Walmart and buy yourself a bottle...or more.

Have you tried Palmolive's Soft Touch dish soap and have a review of your own? Then feel free to go HERE and leave your own review!

Nectresse Sugar Review

Nectresse Sugar
By Splenda

I received a boss of Nectresse by Splenda in my SugarnSpice Voxbox from Influenster. I've never been a huge fan of "fake" sugar packets so I was a bit biased when I got this. First off I wasn't sure what monk fruit was and why it is supposed to be better than regular sugar so I looked it up!

So the story goes that its named after Buddhist monks who cultivated it nearly 800 years ago. Well then why are we just hearing about it now? Well I guess because its been mainly grown in family orchards, who seem to be sharing the greatness now. It has been tested by the FDA and is affirmed that it is safe - or Generally Recognized as Safe. The monk fruit are GMO free, use sustainable farming practices, and are fair trade.

All this is awesome but really how does it taste and is it better than regular sugar? I really wanted to be able to try and make something with this, but it became to much of a hassle to tear open all the little packs to get 1-2 cups of the sugar I'd need. I really wish I had been able to try out one that was more for baking. I can say that there is a difference in appearance when it comes to the Nectresse and sugar. The Nectresse sugar is darker and has a caramel color to it. The taste, well there was a bit of an after taste though not too unpleasant. I think it is a good alternative to regular sugar, so its definitely a sugar alternative you should try out.

I am going to by a box of the loose sugar to try out baking some breads with. I have yet to find them in stores here by my home, but will be taking a longer trip to Walmart to see if they carry it. So look out for another post of mine showing how it works for bread, cookies, and even cake!

Blueberry Bread With Nectresse
So I decided that the best way to try out this sugar was in my favorite recipe - Blueberry Bread! I love making blueberry bread for my family and myself, but was a little unsure if it would come out the same. I used my usual recipe:

Blueberry Loaf:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

I still couldn't find a box of the nectresse where it had it not in packages but all loose. I set off to opening up all the packages and even got the kids to help me out. We got all the 1 cup of nectresse needed and toss it in and put the loaf to cook. It was absolutely great - no grittiness, no weird aftertaste. The only thing was that it had a deeper almost smoky type flavor to it. Hard to describe but it wasn't as sweet as regular sugar, but had more depth to it. Overall it worked great and I definitely will be using it more for when I cook and for drinks!

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Face Wipes

Dickinson's Face Wipes
Witch Hazel

Also included in my Influenster SugarnSpice Voxbox were some Witch Hazel towelettes by Dickinson's. I've heard a lot about witch hazel, but never actually tried it. So what better time to try them out than the present.

When I first saw the box I thought it was a waste because I was expecting a pouch of towelettes to be inside. What I found instead were individually wrapped towelettes, which I found extremely appealing. Because they're individually wrapped you can take them along with you where ever you go. Convenient, right?

There are twenty wipes in each box so it won't really last the whole month but it'll almost get you there. They are pretty affordable at about $5.92 a box.

Now the little packets are definitely easy to open and the towelette itself is really big. It is bigger than my hand and is super moist. It was obviously simple to use and cleaned up all the oily grossness from my skin. My skin felt super smooth afterwards and not oily! I have mostly oily skin so this was huge for me. There is one major issue for me though, and I know others have commented on it as well -- the smell. It's a really weird smell just a bit like - pardon me - urine. Once you do get over the smell though, you'll love the results.

Witch hazel is naturally effective herbal extract with exceptional cleansing properties unlike any face care product you've ever used. It conditions, tones and refreshes your skin while protecting it's essential moisture balance. What's more, it is a natural botanical that helps sensitive skin fight blemishes without over drying. It's apparently some awesome stuff!

Some of the Benefits of Witch Hazel:
  • Refines your pores (awesome right?)
  • Removes & controls oil (who doesn't need this?)
  • Soothes irritation (Great for those Texas summers)
  • Locks in moisture (After getting the oily dirty grossness out!)
If you've never tried Witch Hazel in your facial products I'd definitely start out with DICKINSON'S Witch Hazel Towelettes. At an affordable price you can afford to try them out, and I'm sure you'll like them as much as I do.

Sorry for the bad video quality, this is with a webcam and my light is right above me on the shelf so I kind of get washed out a bit, but I think its still good enough.

Global Green USA Green School Makeover Competition Presented by Pureology

Time is almost over to enter into Global Green USA's Green School Makeover Competition presented by Pureology. The competition ends on Mar 31, but don't let that deter you from entering! You still have a chance to win for your child's school.

So what are the actual benefits to having your child go to a green school? Is there really a difference?

Improved student performance. When children learn in classrooms with natural daylight, improved sound quality and non-toxic building materials such as non-VOC carpets and paints, test scores can improve as much as 20%. Attendance also improves!

More funds for student resources. When green upgrades are made to a school, water and energy costs can be reduced by as much as 40%. These savings can be channeled back into resources that directly benefit students, such as textbooks, computers and other essentials.

Reduced carbon footprint. We're all looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint individually, so why shouldn't your school? Greening a school significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions that cause global warming.
What and who is Global Green USA? Global Green USA helps to update some of the older schools that can't afford to make the renovations needed to provide a clean and safe environment for our kids.

So what are some things that can help your school become more green?

  • Create a recycling program
  • Conduct an energy audit to see how the school can conserve energy.
  • Switch to green cleaning products.
  • Install energy efficient light bulbs.
  • Replace outdated floors and carpeting, with new non-toxic material.
  • Install solar shades to improve natural lighting in classrooms.
  • Use sustainable building material, such as bamboo flooring and recycled gym mats.

Now there are a few things that you can do yourself in that list. Bring up making a recycling program during your next PTA meeting. Ask about energy efficient light bulbs, they're actually pretty affordable. Last ask your principal to look into green cleaning products. The rest of the options are obviously a bit harder, but can always be brought up in the next meetings with the superintendent.

So want to enter into the PUREOLOGY and Global Green USA's Green School Makeover Competition? Enter HERE and good luck, your child and schoolmates will thank you!

Vaseline Spray & Go

VASELINE
SPRAY & GO

Included in my Influenster Sugar 'n Spice VoxBox was Vaseline's New Spray & Go lotion. It's essentially lotion in a can which should make it much simpler to use. It's one of those products you don't think you would ever really need, but when you use it - it's addictive.

So the cap opens and closes by clicking either to the left (closed) or right (open). You give it a good shake and then press down on the top to spray out the lotion. It features a continuous spray so you don't have to stop because it's "lost its juice". The spray is fast and a bit forceful so make sure you don't do it too close to your skin because some lotion will actually fly off your arm. Also no need to press down hard on the top because a lot will come out at once. I think that was really my only issue was that it is a bit harder to control how much actually comes out of the can. The spray is fast, the lotion easily comes out, and its easy to open and close.

The lotion itself comes out as a semi-liquid. As you can see in the photo it comes out really white so you know where you sprayed. The lotion smells really good, a nice flowery powdery smell. Yes I realize neither of those are really words, but its what I'm using! So anyway, the lotion rubs in really quickly and easily. It left my skin feeling silky smooth and it really did just take a couple of seconds to disappear. Now it did take a little longer though to really absorb and I was left with a sort of "wet" feeling for a bit. Other than that it works perfectly especially for when you need it quickly. So why use this instead of traditional lotion in a bottle? Well thats a harder question to answer - but one major upside is the continuous spray. It eliminates that time when you have to stop and get more lotion to apply. Especially those times when your lotion bottle is almost empty and you have to shake it up and down to try and get the lotion moving down.  Overall its a great alternative to the traditional lotion and really handy to have around.

Colgate Optic White

Colgate
 OPTIC WHITE

So I was fortunate to get a whole set of Colgat'es Optic White - toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash in my Voxbox. All three were full size so I could really get to try them out for the whole week. The claims are that these products will help me get whiter teeth in one week so I put them to the test!

The first product to try out was the toothbrush. It was packaged up really good and for a second I had to search for how to open it up. As you can see in the photo I made it way harder than it needed to be. You just flip the edge up and voila, its ready to go!

The toothbrush was soft bristle which I normally like medium or hard. That wasn't too much of an issue for me though. It fit neatly over my teeth and cleaned them up pretty well. Although I did notice some spots where it had missed and I had to go over them again. It might just be the way I brush though. It does come with a tongue brush which I love!

The toothpaste tastes pretty much like regular toothpaste. It does have a more stiff texture though, I felt that difference immediately. The taste was good, nothing new, it foamed up a lot, and left my teeth squeaky clean. I can honestly say that after about 3 days of use I am seeing brighter teeth. It isn't a drastic change, but its happening!  I didn't think it would help, but I'd have to say I'm impressed.

Last step for me was the mouthwash and this was where things got a little difficult for me. Okay so the taste is alright pretty standard for a lot of mouthwashes. It didn't burn very much although if left on my tongue too long I did get some discomfort. My major issue is the texture of it. It is much thicker than other mouthwashes I've used and that completely threw me off. It reminds me of a really think medicine. I didn't like that it doesn't come with a cap that you can actually use. No real measurement other than the directions which tell you to use 3 tablespoons. I just took a leftover measuring cup I had and used that. Because believe me if you put too much in your mouth it will foam up so much that you won't be able to continue without spitting some out. I speak from experience so yea...anyway just make sure to measure it correctly!

Overall I really have enjoyed using these and actually went out and bought some more of the Optic White toothpaste. They are a bit more expensive, but I think because of the results - the cost is totally worth it. You can find them practically every where so be on the lookout!

The Taste: Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC

photo belongs to ABC

So there is a new cooking show out there and surprise it isn't on the Food Network. Yup ABC has brought their own food challenge show to their Tuesday line-up. So the whole premise for the show is 4 "mentors" will each coach 4 cooks ranging from professional chefs to home cooks.

photo courtesy of ABC - all rights reserved
The 4 mentors are famous chefs in their own right: Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre, and Brian Malarkey. I can honestly say I hadn't heard of Ludo or Brian at all. I had seen Nigella on a couple of shows, but my favorite of the quartet is definitely Anthony Bourdain. I love his shows, all on another tv station, and am totally biased as to whom I want to win. He has a straight forward way of speaking and cooking and I like that. Nigella seems really soft spoken, and has an easy way about her. Ludo is definitely a bit more harsh and more hot tempered. Brian seems like such a trash talker and always seems to pick on udo, though it is kind of funny to see Ludo get all bent out of shape. The contestants all seem to be pretty good cooks and of course I've already picked the one person that will be the "villain" -- GREG. Yea this guy, whether its real or not, definitely acts like a jerk and is so sure of himself. He's the type of character you want to see fail just so he can realize he isn't as good as he thinks.

So each of the 16 contestants have to cook up a dish - which in turn is served up on a spoon. Yup, just one taste to see who gets immunity and one taste to see who is out at the end of the competition. The spoons are blind tested so the judges have no clue until the very end whose spoons they liked and didn't like. Episode 4 was a hard one for Ludo and Nigella as the 4 on the bottom were from their teams, two cooks from each team. They would be sending home 2 cooks, the two they decided had cooked the worse dishes. I wasn't surprised at who got sent home though and look forward to next Tuesday to see what happens next.

Overall its a really great show and the interaction between the mentor/judges and the cooks works pretty well. Just as long as the crazy antics doesn't get to out of control the show will be fantastic.  I'll definitely keep watching though because I love Anthony Bourdain. I'm sure I mentioned that already, but thought I'd mention it again. If you want to catch ABC's new show, The Taste it airs on Tuesday nights at 9/8C. Here is a link to check out the most recent episode - http://abc.tv/Z3jimp! Also if you want to check out other episodes you can go to The Taste on ABC and look under recaps.

Product Review: Head & Shoulders Review

So we all know Head & Shoulders and the great work it does at getting us all dandruff free. We also know that overpowering smell as well. I always hated the way it smelled, it didn't ever stop me from using it though because at the end of the day it worked. So when I heard they came out with a new line I was excited to try them all out.

I opted to try out the Damage Rescue shampoo/conditioner because I am a bit harsh on my hair. I have naturally curly hair and well, I'm really not a fan. I like to straighten it out as much as I can which ends up being about every 3 days. I do let it rest though so I don't torture my hair all the time.

Anyway, back to the Damage Rescue shampoo and conditioner. First off the smell is amazingly...GOOD. Its a nice soft, fresh, clean scent that really leaves your hair smelling good. No weird mediciney smell, yea I know that isn't a word. I liked the consistency of the shampoo, which was creamy and... runny. It was like a race against the shampoo before it started dripping down my hand. I literally had to throw my hand on top of my head, so I wouldn't lose it all. I had to put a little more than usual because I know I didn't save enough of the shampoo to cover my whole head of hair. It lathered up really well and was easily rinsed off. I always do two washes of shampoo because I've got super long hair and I live in Texas, its hot here! The conditioner on the other hand was creamy and that really helped to make my hair super soft. It was thick and rich and smelled just as great as the shampoo. I could feel the cleanness and softness in my hair right after rinsing out the conditioner. Once my hair was dried, I towel and then air dry, it was so manageable! I could literally run my fingers through my hair and it was silky smooth.

No 7 Facial Products

I had the chance to review Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion and Night Cream. I received these both from Influenster, and was glad I got them. They were sample size, but a lot definitely goes a long way. I had never heard of Boots before and hadn't really seen any No7 products. Boots is a company based in the UK and has an extensive history. Its been over 160 years since the first store was opened in Goose Gate, Nottingham, UK. For a company to have lasted that long, they must be doing something right. All their products are tested on actual human beings, no animals are used. In fact 1 in 3 women in the UK own Boots beauty products. That's a huge number and its quite impressive.

No. 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion
normal/dry

I can say I've never used a cleansing lotion before so was unsure of what it really would do. Well its a lotion that cleans your face while it moisturizes. The scent is a little different, but not unpleasant. Again, I'm huge with smells and I don't feel comfortable with putting something that doesn't smell right on my face. The lotion itself is very smooth and creamy. I put on make-up and got to work testing to see what happened. I was pretty impressed because I could feel it coming off, if that makes sense. The more I rubbed my face the more the gunk came off. It was great, I had no reactions to it and no redness left on my face. I have more sensitive skin so it was essential that this be "kind" to my face. You can buy a good sized bottle for less than $9.00, making it very affordable.

No. 7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream
normal/dry

The night cream went on after the cleansing lotion. It didn't have much of a smell to it, so that was a plus. It dissolved really quickly and left my skin feeling silky smooth. There was no greasiness or heaviness when I put it on. I've tried other night creams that literally had my skin sweating. This absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling refreshed. It has cocoa and shea butter to keep your skin moisturized the whole night through. The cream is a little more pricier compared to the cleansing lotion at $13.99, but still very affordable. You don't need a lot of it so that bottle will last you the whole month.

Overall I was really impressed by the quality of both the cleansing lotion and night cream. I'll definitely be looking for these products the next time I hit up Target. No more skipping that aisle of "expensive" unknown products. Boots is in that aisle so don't skip over it either!
