SheSpeaks PREVAGE® Giveaway

SheSpeaks PREVAGE® Giveaway

SheSpeaks always gives you the scoop on the newest innovative beauty products, and they're excited to give you the chance to WIN the newest product from Elizabeth Arden before it hits shelves in October!
They're going to be giving away three tubes of PREVAGE® Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum from Elizabeth Arden - each valued at $98!

In just two weeks, 100% of women using PREVAGE® Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum saw improvement in the length, thickness and fullness of lashes. It is also clinically proven to provide a 40% improvement in the appearance, length, thickness and density of lashes in four weeks*. I'm very curious as to if this is really true. There are tons of products out there that say they will do this job, but I doubt they have 100% of users seeing improvement.

So are you ready for full, beautiful lashes and brows? To enter, head on over to the SheSpeaks site and sign in to the Rafflecopter widget with your email or Facebook account. Then, enter by answering the contest question, Tweeting about the Givewaway, posting about it on Facebook or blogging about it!  You can complete all entry options to increase your chances to win.  You can do Twitter and Facebook entries once per day.

The giveaway will end on Monday October 8 at 12AM ET. Winner(s) will be contacted by email 48 hours after the giveaway ends. If you have any questions, please email us at info@shespeaks.com. Good luck!

*Disclaimer: I posted this as an extra entry to win. Good luck!

Glade Expressions Collection

GLADE EXPRESSIONS

The Glade Expressions® Collection is inspired by art and designed to be left out on display. These authentic, easy-to-use home fragrance products release scents that open up note by note, filling your home with lightly layered fragrances and inviting life in. The breakthrough line includes two unique, refillable products:

Glade Expressions® Fragrance Mist comes in a chic holder that blends with your décor for a burst of fragrance that's always out and available. Simply squeeze to release a long-lasting, light mist of fragrance; then refill the holder with your favorite true-to-life scent.

The Glade Expressions® Oil Diffuser releases authentic and exotic fragrances without having to plug it in or find batteries. The trendy holder matches décor perfectly - and is also refillable - making it an effective, stylish option for layering true-to-life fragrances in all of your living spaces.

The Glade Expressions Collection comes in 4 different scents so you're sure to find one that fits your style. The scents are: PineApple Mangosteen, Fuji Apple & Cardamom Spice, Cotton & Italian Mandarin, and Lavender and Juniper Berry. I haven't tried the Lavender and Juniper Berry as I haven't been able to find it in my area, but all the others smell wonderful.

The Scents:
The Pineapple Mangosteen has a wonderful tropical scent with pineapple being in the forefront. The spray gives you just enough burst of scent to leave your room smelling great. For me the diffuser was really, really strong smelling. I had it here in my room and it was overwhelming. I think for a bigger room like the living room where it now sits is perfect for it. I found it is the strongest of all three scents so put it in a smelly area! It definitely does the job and leaves everything smelling good.

The Cotton & Italian Mandarin is a nice linen scent. I actually thought that was what it was because I don't really smell any type of citrus in it. It reminds me of your clothes right when it comes out of the dryer. Smells wonderful and its really light. This scent is one that I'd recommend for a smaller room. It isn't overwhelming at all and its a very light and airy scent.

The Fuji Apple & Cardomom Spice really reminds me of fall. The scent leans more towards the cardomon spice and the apple. Its another light scent that just hangs delicately in the air. It too is good for smaller rooms or a baby's room. That way it smells nice without overwhelming everything.

I can't make an opinion on the Lavender & Juniper Berry as its the only scent that I haven't found here. I don't know if they're super popular with people or if there wasn't as much made. Either way I'm sure it too will be a more mellow scent.

The Design:
For the design I love how sleek and modern the spray and diffuser look. They definitely can just sit on a table, shelf, or your desk and not take away from your style.I would love for them to make different looks to the diffuser so you just don't have the natural tree look that it gives off. The spray looks like a sleek modern vase that would hold some beautiful bouquet of flowers. The first time opening up the spray was a bit difficult, but after that its pretty simple. The diffuser is super easy to put together just wish that once you pop the diffuser card in that it would latch on to stay in. I have had it fall out when I moved the diffuser.

The Cost:
The whole collection is sort of in the middle range when it comes to cost. They aren't the cheapest sprays you can find, but the are definitely worth the price. The sprays go for $2.99 for the starter kit with refills being $1.99. The diffuser goes for $5.99 for the starter kit with the refill being $3.99. I have only had them for about a week and they're both going strong. The spray still has a little more than half the can and the diffuser still smells as strong as when it came out of the box. The diffuser lasts for up to 30 days so I will see if that's how long it goes. I think its about average value on costs with coupons sweetening the deal. Glade always has coupons so if you get it right around a sale you can stock up.

**Disclaimer: I received coupons to try out the spray and the diffuser to try out in my own home from BzzAgent. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was received.

Profusion Eyeshadow Review

PROFUSION
COLOUR ME GLOW EYESHADOW

So this was more of an impulse buy, a hey it's only $0.99 cents so why not try it out? I had never heard of this company before so I was pleasantly surprised at the results. While it didn't last for hours and hours, it did look great. Having to touch it up wasn't hard as it went on quickly and easily. The only thing I'd change was make it not so shimmery. I have found I'm not a huge fan of shimmer in my eyeshadow. It blended easily and I didn't have a lot of fallout. I really loved this reddish copper color, seriously it became my favorite on this palette.

You can find their products at the Profusion Website, and they have a ton of great stuff. I'm already making a list of other things to try out. Of course the nail polishes will be some of the first things I try. These would definitely make some great stocking stuffers for the gals in your life. They aren't highly pigmented like more expensive brands, but they'd still be great for a night out. I think for someone who doesn't have a huge eyeshadow collection this will be a welcome addition.

I'll be giving one Profusion - Colour Me Glow away to one lucky reader! It isn't the same one pictured but if you HERE it is number 8. It has glitter mixed in for some extra sparkle. I hadn't noticed the glitter until now so I may have to go back to the store and get another one!

GIVEAWAY TIME - ENDS 9/28

HOW TO WIN:
  • Head over to the Profusion Website and comment with one other product you'd love to try.
  • Share Post to Facebook or Twitter and comment with link. (daily)

I am trying out new ways at doing giveaways so bear with me guys! If you have any issues feel free to message me and I'll try and get things fixed for you guys. If I get a lot of entries I'll up the ante and add in something else. It'll seriously be a fantastic extra and definitely worth more than $0.99!

Mail Call and Parties!

MAIL CALL

So I got some great stuff today in the mail and from Fedex. Now days aren't always this good, but sometimes it's like Christmas at my house. Today Fedex brought me a package from House Party for a Kleenex sponsored party for myself, family, and friends.

House Party is a website where you can apply to host parties in your home for your family and friends. In doing this you and your guests get to try out products for FREE. It can be a bit difficult to get chosen so when you do make sure you share, take photos, comment and just show that you're appreciative. That way you'll have more of a chance at getting picked again. I just got picked for my second one and its from Kleenex! I got a box full to share and one for myself. Along with the towels I got soap making kits for liquid soap. How sweet!

From the regular mailman I got a win from Marlboro's IWG - a beanie cap. I got a book from who knows where - Resident Evil: Retribution. Baby Talk mag and a really cool speaker. I got it from SKOAL a while back and it is truly super cool!

Super cute right!?

Shadowed Valley By YI Lee Book Review

My Review:  Things aren't always what they seem in this adventure filled Christian story by Yvonne Lee. The story first starts you off in Australia with a man named Jack getting a startling letter. Then you're off to London where you're thrusted into the a world of darkness. There you meet a young girl named Celia, who awakens in a horrible unknown land. She finds out she must embark on a journey to the Kingdom of Light where she will awaken and all her worries will be gone. Thankfully Celia is not fully alone on her journey as she has her trusty steed, Sunrise and then is later joined by a young man.All three must face the Dark Valley to reach the Kingdom of Light and salvation. Things aren't that easy as there are those who do not want them to succeed. There are two major villains in this book, Lord Noskard and a necromancer. Celia must battle them both in order to reach her destination.

At first I had no idea that this was a Christian/ religious book. Yvonne Lee gradually incorporates it into the story and towards the end you are fully aware of the religious undertones. I normally wouldn't read a religious book as I, myself, am not very religious at all. Even though it would be classified as a Christian book there is enough adventure, twists, and depth to make it so much more.Sure there were times where I thought, things can't really be that easy, but if you are a person of faith I suppose they are.

Overall this was a great book about faith, perseverance, and trust. Its a great read for kids and adults alike and I think you'll enjoy it, even if you aren't religious.

WNW Fergie Polish

WET N WILD FERGIE
HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Wet N Wild Fergie's "Hollywood Walk of Fame" polish is a star glitter polish. It has different colored stars as well as confetti glitter. It has a very thick base which made it kind of hard to deal with. It is packed with the star glitter, it's just a bit difficult getting the stars to go where you want them to. Because of that I just got a toothpick and literally picked the stars out of the polish. It was a bit messy, but not too much.

The first coat was basically me picking out the stars and where I wanted them to go. The second and third coat was just for getting the extra glitter added on. I did pick out any extra stars that happened to come out. I really do like the way it looks, just wished that maybe there were smaller stars as well. I think if they were smaller then they would have come out easier. Either way for $3.99 it was a huge bargain and it is still super cute!

This is a perfect polish for a really cute girly polish. This is "Hollywood Walk of Fame" over NYC's "Classic Coral Creme". Isn't it super cute and totally 80's?? Seriously I see that picture and I think of that one cartoon series, Gems.

Check out this Tootsie Roll!

Right now Tootsie Roll Pop has a sweepstakes going on. Hop on over using the link below and get entered to win $500!!

NYC "Classic Coral Creme" Polish Review

Long Wearing Polish
#130 CLASSIC CORAL CREME

So while at Target I decided I needed a new polish. Yes I needed a new one and because it was $0.94 I decided it was definitely coming home with me. Now when I think about coral I actually think of a more peach colored pink, and not a hot pink. This polish has a bubble gum pink polish with a ton of white shimmer. It is a very sheer polish that you can build upon. With as sheer as it is, it took three coats to fully cover my nail.

I normally wouldn't wear such a bright pink, but I thought it looked cute and wasn't too overpowering. It was smooth and went on easily. I didn't have a chance to see how long it actually lasted because I was also trying out another polish. I have tried other NYC polishes and they lasted an average length of time, they were on par with more expensive brands.

I think you should go buy yourself some NYC Long Lasting nail polishes because they have some great shades, they're super duper affordable, and they go chip free for days.

Expotv.com

So I have been a member of ExpoTv for a little over a yr now. I joined up under some blog and didn't do much with it until recently. Yup it was one of those things that you just join so you can have one more entry to win a prize. Well I was dumb to not use it to its fullest potential.

Here is my dashboard from today 9/19/12
It's super easy to do all you need is to check out the dashboard for reviews they are looking for. Also you can check out the "Most Wanted" section to see if you have products they want reviewed as well. A lot of the "Most Wanted" products have higher point payouts. The videos are simple to do, just say the product name, what you like or don't like, and do it all in less than 3mins. Super easy and because they are so short you can do multiple videos in a day like me.

After you've shot your video then you need to upload it. You have to create a short review/report about the product and then you're ready to upload the video!

Most videos payout 300-500pts so with a few done you can really rake in the points. I have a little over 10,000pts right now and I'm still saving it up. I'm not sure what I want, but that $100 Amazon.com GC is totally calling my name. That is 12,00pts so I'm not that many videos away!

Or want a Dyson Vacuum cleaner and don't want to shell out a whole lotta cash? Guess what they have one too! As long as you stay on course and make videos you'll have it in no time!

Now that isn't all ExpoTv offers, while they have some awesome products that you can redeem your points for. You can also try out products in your home using the Tryology program. You take screener surveys to make sure you qualify and then ExpoTv will let you know if you get in. The only problem with this is there are very limited spots and many people apply. So check it often after you've applied to ensure you get the product to try out. I have tried baby products, hair products, beauty products, and food in my own home. Whatever they send is yours to keep! Oh and they do put out some excellent products like tvs, lawnmowers, sheds, etc but you have to make sure you are active enough.

So now that you've seen what ExpoTv is all about what are you waiting for? Join today and start earning those pts!!Just click on the ExpoTv links and you're there!

Post-It Tape

POST-IT TAPE

Yup that's right tape! Post-It has come up with a great new product and its basically a Post-It note in roll form. You can label stuff and stick it anywhere you'd like. It comes in the regular super bright colors that Post-It makes. I was sent this by 3M to try out and review for free. Man was I excited though when I opened the box. I mean really who doesn't love Post-It notes!?

The package was super easy to deal with basically a few tugs and the roll was ready to go. The roll doesn't have any sharp edges so no fear of cuts. You basically take the desired amount and tear it off. Easy peasy and like with regular post-it notes you can remove easily and stick it somewhere else. The adhesive is a bit stronger than a regular post-it note but doesn't leave behind and residue or marks. I tried it out over a few days taking it off and moving it around and it still has some adhesive on it. I put it on smooth surfaces as well as rough ones so it will last!

While I may be the only one to get excited over this product, it is super cool. Was kind of hard to get a good picture because the neon green kept shining all over the place. Check them out HERE to learn a bit more about them. You can buy them at Amazon.com for about $3.55. They come in 2 different sizes and 4 different colors. Go HERE and you can get some great coupons on other 3M products!

Also if you would like to try out products for 3M as well then join the Post-It Perks! I have gotten a few things to try out through them as well as coupons for some extra savings. Don't you guys just love Post-It notes?

Disclaimer: Again I received this product to try out and review from 3M. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was received.

Progresso Light Soups

PROGRESSO LIGHT SOUP
CREAMY POTATO WITH BACON & CHEESE

So I had the chance to try out Progresso Light Soup through MyInsite. I got two flavors Creamy Potato w/ Bacon & Cheese, and Chicken Pot Pie. I kept the Creamy Potato w/Bacon & Cheese while the other went to my mom's bf.

The soup had a great smell when I opened up the can and had a very thick, creamy consistency. Now I wish I could say I loved this soup, but honestly it wasn't a home run for me at all. I did like the consistency with it being creamy, chunky, and thick. The major issues were the taste. I didn't taste bacon or cheese really, it was missing that flavor and seasoning. Also, I had to literally search for the potatoes just to get a spoonful. I would have liked to have seen them be bigger pieces and more of them.

While I did pour the whole can into the bowl it is half a can per serving. Which really half of the can would have been more than enough because it is so thick and creamy. It has only 100 calories and is 2pts with the Weight Watchers program. The cans of soup go for about $1.25 and up depending on your location.
Overall the soup was pretty average and they can definitely make improvements on what they already have. On the other hand my mother's bf LOVED the Chicken Pot Pie Light soup. He said it was very delicious, had great flavor, was thick and filling. You may still really enjoy the Creamy Potato with Bacon & Cheese, but I am definitely going out to buy another can of the Chicken Pot Pie so I can try it out for myself.
You can go to Progresso's Facebook page and get a $0.50 off coupon from another Progresso product. Click HERE to get a coupon for $1.25/4 cans of Progresso Light soup from MyInsite.

*I received this product for FREE through the MyInsite program. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was given.

Review LA Colors "Tropical Storm" Polish

L.A. COLORS
TROPICAL STORM

This is exactly the color of the skies here the other day when it was storming. This dark gray color covered the skies and not it covers my nails. This is "Tropical Storm" by L.A. Colors and its another gray metallic polish.

This polish was thicker than the Maybelline Color Show polish, I'm guessing because the color is darker. It had great coverage and I only needed 2 coats. It didn't streak or bubble so I guess I got better at applying metallic polishes. This polish is more opaque so can't really build on it, but I still have some ideas for it.

The best thing about this polish is definitely the price. It was only $1 at Family Dollar and was an impulse buy. Well okay maybe not so much an impulse as a :let's casually walk around the polish section and see what we can find" kind of buy. It was only a dollar so no hard feelings and I'm happy with how it looks. Its a great creamy dark gray! So what new polishes have you bought?

Maybelline Color Show #400 Polish Review

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK
COLOR SHOW
#400 PEDAL TO THE METAL

Pedal to the Metal is a super bright shimmery silver that looks fantastic! It took about 4 coats to get complete coverage. Because it took 4 coats drying time did take a little longer, but it wasn't too bad. I wish it would have been more opaque, but with being sheer it has way more possibilities.

I noticed that on the first coat it started out thicker on the bottom and then got more sheer towards the top. The wheels immediately started turning and I can totally see the possibilities of some match-ups. Anyway, the drying time for each individual coat was pretty average at a 1-2mins, just to make sure it was completely dry. It wasn't thick at all and did go on really easily, which was a first for me. I've noticed that a lot of the metallic polishes have a different consistency than non-metallic. I have had issues with bubbles and streaks with others, not so with "Pedal to the Metal".

The price was pretty affordable at about $3.99 at Walgreens and if you want to join in on the metallics bandwagon then this is a good one. Its so pretty and I really loved it. So head out and get your own bottle before the bandwagon leaves you behind.

How do you like my little nail art? I bought some nail art tape and wow its super hard to use! I think the blue goes great with the bright silver though and I'll be pairing them up again. Hopefully next time I'll do a better job of it.
