Beauty Corner Reviews - PERL Nail Strips

PERL Nail Strips

So I was very fortunate to get a free box of PERL Nail Strips, actually I shouldn't say free because I did pay shipping. Anyway I paid $5.95 for this set and was pretty excited and couldn't wait to try them. It doesn't really have a name anywhere but as you can see in the photos its black with rainbow dots. The dots are raised so it gives a bit of a 3d effect. It came with 2 sets - 20 nail strips, instructions, cuticle pusher and a mini file. The instructions were pretty easy to read so I figured it would be a piece of cake. That wasn't really how it went though. I decided to do my pointer finger first and picked out a size I thought would fit. I am not sure if I have wide nails or what but none of them seemed like they'd be a good fit. Found one though and went to work.

The arrow shows it...right there....see it?
Now it seems easy to pull off the plastic backing, but it wasn't I went to take it off and it pulled a bit which made the strip lose its shape a bit. It says to lay it down and press it, which I did and then bend the excess over the tip of the nail and file off. Now maybe I was doing it wrong but for the life of me it wouldn't file off easily. It basically just bent in and stayed there. I filed some more and finally it came off but it was pretty jagged. I looked at my handy work and noticed it didn't really cover my whole nail. You can't see it too well but in the photo there is a piece of nail showing on the side. At that point there isn't much else you can do about it but suck it up and move on.  The end result on my pointer finger was just sad, it didn't cover my whole nail, was a bit stretched out, and was lumpy. It wasn't smooth at all like real nail polish. I tried my other nails but they were such a failure I couldn't bear to share them with you. Seriously I must totally suck at putting these on because they did not look pretty at all.

So not a pretty picture.
I'm sure there are people who are experts at putting on nail stickers and their nails look fantastic. I am not one of those people and I'm not sure if I'll ever be. So there sit my pretty nail stickers in their box in a drawer where I may later try my hands - or nails at it again.

I would still recommend getting some nail stickers as it doesn't hurt to try them out. They're pretty affordable and are really pretty. I'm sure if I could do it better my nails would look awesome. If you get them and try them out I'd love to see them! Let me live vicariously through you and see your awesome nails.

PERL  Nail Stickers go for $9 for 20 nail stickers - which is about $4.50 for 1 set. That's pretty affordable if ya ask me. You can shop for them online at their website - PERL.

  1. I barely have the patience to paint my nails so I highly doubt I would be able to do nail stickers. I would love to try but I bet mine would turn out pretty bad. I love the pattern on the ones you got.
